MEIJI PERIOD, 19TH AND 20TH CENTURY

One carved as a large boar sleeping on a bed of autumnal leaves, with long grasses and ears of wheat issuing from rockwork beside it, some details inlaid, signed Kaigyoku Masatsugu after the famous model by Kaigyokusai Masatsugu (1813-1892); another depicting a voluptuous Okame wearing loose robes revealing her bosom and holding a circular fan, inscribed Mitsuhiro; the third Handaka Sonja holding an alms bowl from which a large dragon emerges, signed Hidemasa; together with a Chinese uncut seal carved as a lion dog on a tall plinth, with long inscriptions to the sides, 5.6cm max.
