EDO AND MEIJI PERIOD, 19TH CENTURY

One a netsuke carved as a recumbent ox, resting with its head slightly turned to the left, a rope tether over its back, signed Tomotada in a rectangular reserve underneath; the other a small okimono of a boy holding a woven bowl before him, a small cricket on his back, in a pose reminiscent of a 'thwarted rat-catcher' netsuke; together with a wood netsuke carved as a laughing Okame, signed Tsugiyuki, 4.3cm max. (3)
