EDO PERIOD, 18TH/19TH CENTURY
Of rectangular shape, the cover decorated with three Noh masks carved in high relief on a dense sayagata ground, the pattern extending to the side and base; the inside of the lid signed Deme Taiman saku with kaō, 3cm x 6cm x 9cm. (2)
Provenance: formerly in the collection of J G Dalgliesh (1887-1940), and W W Winkworth (1897-1991).
