EDO PERIOD, 19TH CENTURY
Attributed to Shiomi Masanari, decorated with a large rat in profile wrapping around both faces, a smaller rodent depicted on the reverse; all rendered in black togidashi-e on the gold fundame ground; attached to a wood netsuke carved as another small rat, its eyes inlaid with metal studs; the inro 7.3cm, the netsuke 5.9cm.
