A JAPANESE YEW WOOD NETSUKE OF A FROG BY MATSUDA SUKENAGA (1810-71)
EDO/MEIJI, 19TH CENTURY

The amphibian depicted crawling on a pumpkin stalk, naturalistically carved with the texture of its skin rendered in detail and the eyes inlaid in glass, the reverse signed Sukenaga, 4.8cm.
