Modelled as a phoenix or ho-o bird with curled feathers, the head forming the spout and the long tail feathers the handle; decorated in underglaze blue with geometrical patterns and other formal designs, the sides with stylised fish; signed Makuzu Kozan sei underneath the lid and to the base, 21cm.
