Three Japanese scroll paintings of bijin, the first with a beauty standing by a balustrade, gazing at sailing boats in the distance, signed and with a red seal mark; the two others with similar compositions, depicting a beauty writing a letter and with Okame behind her, all three paintings with a tomobako wood box, 111cm x 42.5cm. (6)

Provenance: formerly the Paula and David Newman collection, sold on behalf of the executors.
