A JAPANESE BRONZE OKIMONO OF A SHOJO BY RYOMIN
MEIJI PERIOD, 19TH CENTURY
The drunken spirit depicted sitting, wearing loose robes and with its long hair flowing behind its back; it looks down with its hands open as if to express its disappointment at the lack of a sake cup, a three character signature underneath reading Ryomin saku (made by Ryomin), 20.2cm.
Provenance: an English private collection, Somerset, purchased in Japan.
