TWO JAPANESE NABESHIMA DISHES
MEIJI OR LATER, 20TH CENTURY
One decorated in underglaze blue and polychrome enamels with large peonies on a ground of waves, with a signature to the inside of the foot for Imaizumi Imaemon XIII (1926-2001), the other dish with a blue and white design of lotus flowers and scrolling tendrils, both dishes raised on a foot with comb design and painted to the reverse with clusters of beribboned cash, 15cm and 14.9 respectively.
