PROBABLY EDO, 18TH/19TH CENTURY
The bulbous body decorated with groups of figures in luxuriant gardens, some carrying parasols and tall fans, standing amongst stylised foliage and rockwork, the lid similarly decorated; raised on a short foot and with a straight neck painted with scrolling tendrils, with an associated wood stand, 31cm. (3)
Provenance: from an English private collection, Hertfordshire, by repute acquired at the turn of the 19th century and thence by descent.
