A TALL JAPANESE VASE BY TAIZAN
MEIJI ERA, 19TH/20TH CENTURY
Of cylindrical form with a tapered neck, decorated with a kingfisher flying amongst lotus leaves, all on a heavily crazed ground, the base signed Dai Nihon Taizan sei, 37cm.
Provenance: from the collection of Robert L Stolper of Stolper Galleries, and thence by descent. Robert worked with Asian and African art from the 1940s onwards in Amsterdam, Munich, New York and the UK.
