Of circular shape with a notch to the side, the inside glazed white and the outside and base with a lustrous aubergine-colour surface; marked Hanazen underneath; with a tomobako (wood box) inscribed Kensui Kōchi Shiyu, Oshiko-yaki Matsubayashi Hosai (a lustrous purple waste-water bowl by Matsubayashi Hosai), possibly referring to Matsubayashi Hosai XV (1950-2015); 18cm approx.
