THREE JAPANESE METAL VASES
SHŌWA/HEISEI, 20TH CENTURY
The first a cylindrical bronze wall vase with a ring for suspension, decorated with gilded waves, signed Masatoshi zō, with a tomobako (wood box) inscribed Tsuru hana-ire (cylindrical flower vase) and signed and sealed Masatoshi, with a biography of the artist, Shiotsu Masatoshi (b.1895); the second bronze vase of slender form with a short everted rim, decorated in kaga zōgan with pinwheels inlaid in silver and gilt, the base signed Kō for Kōdō Murakami (b.1961), also with a biography of the artist; with a tomobako inscribed Kaga zōgan nuki hana-ire (Kaga metal-inlaid vase, titled 'Wind'), signed and sealed Kōdō; the third a ribbed globular vase in white metal, possibly signed Shoryoku saku underneath, 21.5cm max.
