A LARGE JAPANESE BRONZE JARDINIERE
EDO PERIOD, DATED 1841
Of rectangular form, raised on four scrolling feet and with lion dog-head handles to the sides; the base with a seal mark for Imanaka; with a tomobako (wood box) inscribed Karakane sunabachi (bronze alloy sand bowl) dated the fourth month of the Year of the Ox, Tenpō 12 (May/June 1841) signed Imanaka; 12.5cm x 45cm x 25cm.
