PROBABLY EDO, 18TH CENTURY

Likely one of the Jūni Shinshō (Twelve Heavenly Generals) or a Myōō (Wisdom Kings), depicted standing on a demon, with a wrathful expression; wearing loose robes, a necklace made of skulls, and a tiger skin; the eyes inlaid in glass with gold pupils, and the surface with remnants of polychromy; 39cm.
