TWO JAPANESE POLYCHROME DISHES

Both dishes decorated in underglaze blue, polychrome enamels and gilt; the top half of the gourd-shaped dish painted with a flowering prunus tree, the lower part with a dense diaper pattern; raised on a short foot with key fret, a fuku mark to the base; the other dish embellished with stylised kabosu citrus fruits, framed by an alternating band of chrysanthemum mon, scrolling tendrils, and further diaper, the reverse with two clusters of tasselled coins and scrolls.
