The two similar dishes are decorated with the shochikubai or Three Friends of Winter (pine, prunus and bamboo); each with karakusa scrolls and formal designs to the cavetto, rendered in the ronuki (wax resist) technique; the largest dish marked Fuki Choshun (wealth, nobility, longevity and youth) underneath; the third dish of rectangular shape and painted to the cavetto with prunus and pine framed by a border of flowers and scrolling tendrils, a fuku mark at the back and a paper label for 'R&G McPHERSON ANTIQUES, LONDON W8, 22636'.
