A JAPANESE BRONZE FIGURE BY OSHIMA JOUN
MEIJI 1868-1912
Cast as a seated figure with long flowing hair, possibly Gama Sennin or a shojo, reclining toward the ground and with a cheery expression on his face, with a seal mark for Oshima Joun (1858-1940), 21cm.
Provenance: the collection of Roy Merley, purchased from F C Manser & Son on 3rd July 1984 for £400.
