A JAPANESE LACQUER SUZURIBAKO (WRITING BOX AND COVER)

TAISHO OR LATER, 20TH CENTURY

Of typical rectangular shape, the cover decorated with silver-coloured and copper inlays on the black roiro lacquer ground, two fan-shaped and the three others rectangular, embellished with depictions of flowers and bamboo; the inside with a metal suiteki (water dropper), inkstone and brush, 4cm x 15cm x 23.2cm.
