A JAPANESE GOLD AND BLACK LACQUER THREE-CASE INRO

EDO OR MEIJI PERIOD, 19TH CENTURY

Decorated with a continuous design of flowers issuing from a rocky outcrop, with small chrysanthemums to one side and large white blossoms made of mother of pearl inlays, the rest of the decoration rendered in gold takamaki-e and hiramaki-e, with a glass ojime, a wood bead and a manju netsuke carved with a dense design of leafy tendrils, the inro 7.4cm.
