A JAPANESE LACQUER KODANSU CABINET AND STAND
MEIJI PERIOD, 19TH CENTURY
Of rectangular form, the two front doors opening to reveal many drawers and two further doors, a small curved shelf behind them; the exterior painted with a bird of prey on one door and two cranes in flight on the other; with two horizontal drawers on either side; the surface of the cabinet is decorated with brocade patterns, paper cranes, pine needles, tori kabuto hats and other geometric designs, together with the original key, 66cm x 30cm x 58cm.
