A JAPANESE WOOD NETSUKE OF A HARE WITH AMBER EYES

EDO PERIOD, 19TH CENTURY

Recumbant and with its head turned towards its back, the hair finely rendered to suggest a piebald colouring, its eyes inlaid with minute beads, signed Masanao with kao underneath for Masanao of Yamada (Ise Province), 5cm.
