An early 19th Century revolving carved carnelean cameo and intaglio brooch by Nicolo Morelli (1779 - 1836), the cameo side carved with two prancing lions pulling a chariot with a cupid and signed Morelli. The reverse with carved intaglio depicting Silenus sprawled on a donkey and staring at a kantharos of wine at arm's length, being led by a winged putti playing a trumpet in one hand and holding a thyrsus in the other. Gold frame. The oval carnelian 3.8cm wide.
