A bloodstone desk seal, England, circa 1835, the tapering bloodstone handle of faceted form with a domed top, to a fluted gold collar and cushion, the bloodstone matrix engraved with the arms of Walter quartering Lonsdale, with the motto 'Fideliter non Serviliter' measuring 9 x 1.7 x 2cm, fitted case

The coat of arms is for Gwalter-Borranskill-Congrave Lonsdale (1811-1866), an attaché to the British embassy at Munich.
