An early 20th century silver gilt vanity case by Louis Kuppenheim, the rectangular box realistically chased with a seated long-haired dog to the hinged cover, with ruby eyes, the reverse chased with the reverse of the dog, with a hinged mirror and two vacant compartments, cabochon ruby-set thumbpiece and with oval link chain handle, marked 'LK' 900 silver mark, '789', '16', control mark for 1912 - 1924, 9.3cm high
