By repute, owned by Virginia Cherrill (1908-1996), an American silent movie actress, best known for her part as the blind flower-seller opposite Charlie Chaplin in "City Lights" (1931). Cherrill was married four times and was the first wife of the actor, Cary Grant, whom she married (as her second husband) in 1934 and divorced in 1935. The sapphire in this ring was reputedly a gift from the Maharaja of Jaipur.
