A 19th century carved shell cameo brooch, depicting Nyx carrying her two sleeping children amongst stylised clouds amd with an owl flying close, the gold frame decorated with twisted rope and Greek key pattern borders, cameo 6cm high
The imagery was taken from a marble relief by Bertel Thorvaldsen, dated 1815.
