A pair of 19th century diamond pendants
A pair of 19th century diamond pendants, converted, each oval pendant set with graduated old cushion-shaped diamonds, and suspending a further large old cushion-shaped diamond to the centre, in silver on gold cut-down collets, both with later pendant bale, one with a later brooch fitting, both 3.5cm high
PROVENANCE: Family traditions hold that the two pendants originally belonged to Horatio Walpole, 3rd Earl of Orford, (1783-1858) and descendant of Sir Robert Walpole, 1st Earl of Orford (1676-1745) First Prime Minster of Great Britain. The brooches were then inherited by the current owners through direct family descent.
