Four sets of buttons and a hardstone chatelaine, 19th century, comprising: a set of six lacquered buttons, inlaid with gold, silver and shell in the Japanese taste to depict a butterfly and a flower, each 2.3cm diameter, case; a set of five paste and enamel buttons and one blue and colourless paste button, enamel and paste buttons each 1.8cm, case; a set of nine single paste buttons and one colourless paste button of cluster design, smaller buttons 11mm diameter each, case; and a set of six buttons of swirl design, set with colourless pastes, each 3.1cm, case; together with a chatelain set with cabochons of agate and jasper, length 14cm
