A late Victorian diamond-set crescent brooch, the closed crescent is set with a line of graduated cushion-shaped diamonds on blue enamel ground and within borders of rose-cut diamonds on silver and gold, engraved with Hebrew inscription dated 10.1.59 and translates to Yevarechecha Adonai v'yishmarecha (May the Eternal one bless you and watch over you), 2.3cm wide

The inscription is the first line of the priestly blessing found in the Book of Numbers Chapter 6, verses 24-26.
