A fine George III hardstone bracelet, early 19th century, designed as a series of rectangular links

£800 - £1,200 £2,016

A fine George III hardstone bracelet, early 19th century, designed as a series of rectangular links flanked by pairs of semicircular links, variously set with polished sections of jasper, agate, malachite and lapis lazuli, the clasp set with a rectangular bloodstone intaglio depicting putti driving chariots, centring on an eagle with a laurel wreath in its beak perched atop a column, length 17.7cm, case stamped Spink

One section of chain linking by clasp broken - should simply require a replacement jump ring. Crack to one small section of malachite, probably reglued, appears stable and secure in mount. Stones with some other minor surface-reaching fissures, areas of wear and slight unevenness to gold mount, overall in good condition. Clasp closing securely. Gross weight 48 grams.
