An Edwardian ruby and diamond openwork butterfly brooch, the body centred with a circular-cut ruby and set to the abdomen and eyes with rose-cut diamonds. Each wing is set with an old circular-cut diamond, the upper wings further set with circular-cut rubies and rose-cut diamonds, the lower wings with calibré-cut rubies and rose-cut diamonds. Pierced platinum and yellow gold mount. 5.3cm wide.
