A COLLECTION OF LATE 18TH CENTURY GARNET JEWELLERY, comprising: a bracelet, composed of a row of garnet clusters of alternating floral and target design, centring on a larger flowerhead cluster, in closed-back silver gilt settings, length 19cm; a brooch, converted from an aigrette, designed as a ribbon-tied plume of feathers, in gold-closed back settings, width 7.5cm; a brooch, converted from an aigrette, designed as a ribbon-tied wheatsheaf detailed with a flower and dragonfly, in silver gilt closed-back settings, width 8cm; a brooch of ribbon-tie design, in silver gilt closed-back settings, width 7.5cm; a small floral brooch, the garnets in closed-back silver settings, width 4cm, various garnets missing; a small crescent brooch, in closed-back silver gilt settings, possibly converted from a larger piece, width 2.2cm, pin missing; a pendant of ribbon-tie design, in closed-back silver gilt settings, hooks to reverse for suspension, width 4cm; a pair of floral pendant earrings, in closed-back silver settings, later gold hook fittings, length 3.5cm; and a necklace, composed of three garnet clusters, in closed-back gold settings, to a two-strand fine link gold back chain and a garnet cluster clasp, length approx. 35cm, central cluster detached and necklace in two halves, all converted from buttons
