A 19th century gold winged scarab brooch
A 19th century gold winged scarab brooch, the centre carved carnelian scarab set in a gold rotating mount. Realistically formed and the reverse carved with two figures in the classical style. Supported with two snake form figures with beaks. The wings with fine pellet and wirework and decorated with green, blue, white and red cloissonne enamel. With two lotus buds beneath. The brooch 5.5cm wide. In fitted case with sticker for C Civilotti, Piazza Di Spagna 94 Roma.
