An early Victorian snuff box, with reeded sides decorated in low relief on the cover with a lady sitting side-saddle on a horse, a gentleman leading his horse and two men carrying a dead stag, tied between them on a pole, the cover inscribed on the inside "The Gift of Mrs Aldham to H. Dixon Esq in memory of her husband Captn J.W. Aldham his deceased Friend 1838", by Edward Edwards, London 1837, 3in (7.6cm) wide, 3.4oz.
