Queen Victoria, Pattern or Trial Striking of the Crown, 1847, in lead, by William Wyon, struck without a collar on separate lead planchets, on spreading flans, Obverse, young head to left, as currency type, toothed border, plain edge, on 3.5mm thick flan, Reverse, square-topped shield, crowned within open laurel wreath, as currency type, toothed border, plain edge, on 3mm thick flan, 43mm. Both good very fine, obverse with light scuffmarks, reverse better with traces of brilliance, though the flan slightly curved. (2)
