Edith Violet Moutrie (née Hayward) entered service with the Britsh Red Cross Society in 1915, and served during both World Wars in Wiltshire and Dorset. Her B.E.M. was awarded in the New Years Honours of 1956 after 41 years of service. She was at that time Commandant of the Dorset 36 detachment based at Swanage, and Divisional Welfare Officer.
