Medicine: a part group of silver prize medals to John Shepherd Fletcher, comprising: Manchester Royal Infirmary, engraved, 51mm, 2nd prize for Clinical Reports in Surgery, October 1844; Manchester Royal School of Medicine & Surgery, struck and with engraved award details, 56mm, arms supported by Hippocrates, Medical Botany 1843-44, silver frame with lunettes and ring suspension, some discolouration, and condensation under lunette, otherwise about as struck; and four more from the Manchester Royal School, 55mm, wreaths, rev. engraved award details: The Practice of Physic, Surgery, Anatomy, and Midwifery and the Diseases of Women and Children, all 1844-45, all extremely fine or better; in a fitted library case with one vacant space.
