Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders: a silver-mounted Victorian dress dirk, blade 11 in. with two fullers and a scalloped back, hilt of bog oak with basket-weave carving and foil-backed crystal set to the pommel, scabbard accommodating a by-knife and fork hilted en suite to the dirk, the two silver bands and the silver locket and chape richly embossed with writhing beasts and with the regimental emblems and motto 'NE OBLIVISCARIS SANS PEUR', each part with assay marks for Edinburgh 1897, the locket named for R.& H.B. Kirkwood.
