D. Walker: a Scottish 28 bore all-steel flintlock pistol

D. Walker: an 18th century Scottish 28 bore all-steel flintlock pistol, three-stage barrel 7.5 in. with fluted breech section and slightly flared hexagonal muzzle, foliate scrolls engraved to the intervening round stage, border engraved lock inscribed 'D WALKER', ball trigger, steel stock with border and scroll engraving, the butt with scrolling 'ram's horn' extensions and accommodating a ball-headed pricker, oval white metal cartouches set to the grip and engraved on one side 'JE' and on the other with a pair of lovebirds, side plate with openwork scrolls and extending to form a belt hook with engraved and moulded decoration, ring turned steel ram rod (probably later). Section 58(2) - no licence required if possessed as a curiosity or ornament.
