A 14 bore 18th century continental flintlock carbine

A 14 bore continental flintlock carbine, smooth-bored barrel 16 in., rubbed crowned mark over a 'C' to the breech, small brass fore-sight, key fasteners and break-off breech, sighting groove in the top of the tang; bevelled lock with swan-necked cock, stepped steel side plate with light border engraving, steel trigger guard with pineapple finial, steel butt plate with stepped tang; walnut full-stock carved with linen-fold and shell decoration around the barrel tang, brass tipped wooden ram rod; 18th century. Section 58(2) - no licence required if possessed as a curiosity or ornament.
