Royal Aircraft Factory Farnborough: a fascinating collection of First World War era photographs and ephemera, being part of the papers of Major Charles Kemble Butler-Stoney, Royal Flying Corps and RAF, including: a photographs album containing many studies of early aircraft in flight and on the ground, H.M. airship Delta, a Parseval type airship, a group portrait of a 1914 shooting team armed with the .303 S.M.L.E., various scenes at the R.A.F. Farnborough, group and single portraits; correspondence including letters from various individuals serving in France (including Bowes Butler-Stoney, see lot 280), some giving details of the fighting; personal effects comprising a silver vesta case, a combined vesta and sovereign case, a pocket book, and an open faced silver pocket watch; and other similar items.
