A small collection of Japanese kogatana handles (kozuka), each gilt on the back and edges, the faces with encrusted decoration in gold, silver and alloys within raised borders to shakudo grounds: one depicting an armoured warrior and a general or daimyo gesturing with a fan; the next with faggots piled with stag antlers; the next with three gilt lions; the next similar but with silver lions; the next with a lion fighting a dragon; the next with a gilt dragon, the next depicting two cormorant fishermen in a boat to a ground of rolling waves, the last with a sleeping tiger amid foliage, a butterfly, and text; all but the last two with nanako finish to the shakudo grounds.
