A fine South Arabian dagger (jambiya)

A fine South Arabian dagger (jambiya), broad curved blade 6.5 in., with narrow medial ridge; hilt of ivory with fret-carved silver enclosing the base and the back and displaying foliate scrolls and lattice panels, grip and pommel set with gold flower heads; silver scabbard with openwork foliate decoration in large panels to each side, fine spiral-fluted terminal, ornate brass suspension loops, probably of Indian workmanship.
