A 17th Century German sword of justice

A 17th Century German sword of justice, or executioner's sword, broad double edged blade 35 in. with parallel edged and rounded point, short fuller engraved IHN SOLINGEN' to either side, further engraving including: a headsman with sword held aloft, a partial name (possibly Hans ****) and the year 1685, short ricasso struck with two armourer's marks; cross hilt of cut steel, the quillons with basket-weave panels, heavy pear shaped pommel with alternating basket-weave and plain longitudinal bands and capped with acanthus leaves, two-handed grip bound with alternating bands of beaded and braided wire.
