A China Medal 1840-42 to 2nd Master Christopher George, H.M.S. Sulphur (C. GEORGE, 2ND MASTER, H.M.S. SULPHUR.), minor edge bruising and contact marks, otherwise very fine.

H.M.S. Sulphur was a Hecla-class bomb ship launched in 1826 and notable for her use in surveying the Pacific coast of the Americas. Christopher George served in her during this expedition, and when she was diverted for service in the war with China 1840-42. Offered with copy research.
