Album of Letitia Asplet, including sketches, cyphers, photographs, decorated cards, and an autograph letter by Victor Hugo, Hamwell House, 2 Janvier, 1861, 2pp, in French, to children concerning the death of their mother, offering sympathy and advice, one or two words crossed through, small piece torn from blank margin, the final blank page stuck down, the majority of the items pasted in, elaborately bound in contemporary roan, the sides with an architectural design in gilt and blind enclosing two fountains, decorated with voluts, spine panelled in gilt, a.e.g. with the Ackermann ticket on the endpaper, 4to, c.1861.
