Modern British & 20th Century Art

This June we are delighted to present over 350 lots of Modern and Contemporary art. The sale features some outstanding examples of British landscape painting, including pictures by John Nash, Spencer Gore and Charles Ginner. Other highlights include works by Graham Sutherland, Jacob Epstein, Mary Fedden, Joseph Crawhall and Stanhope Forbes. Amongst the European works, are examples by Renoir, Picasso and a superb oil by Carlos Nadal. The sale begins with pictures formerly in the collection of Dr S. Leonard Simpson, including four newly discovered drawings by Augustus John, and several works by Walter Sickert, a favourite artist of Simpson’s. The auction also features part two of the Collection of Michael and Henrietta Gough.

Highlights will be displayed at our London office, before the whole sale goes on view at our Old Sarum galleries.
