Additional information: The Garth Castle was in service with the Union Castle Line from 1910 until 1939, the company flag is flying at the masthead. In November 1914 she was requisitioned by the Navy and commissioned as His Majesty’s Hospital Ship (HMHS) Garth Castle, being retained in Naval Service to participate in the 1918-1919 North Russia Expeditionary Force before returning to company service. In 1926 she struck rocks at Ascension Island and featured in a series of stamps. She was broken up in 1939.
