The Collection of the late Dr. Peter Mangold
Piper wrote about his plan for St Mark's 'We worked on eight windows for Eton College Chapel...and the big task of the Baptistry Window at Coventry Cathedral... and it has clearly influenced my design at St Mark's in its simplicity and directness of approach. The flames, yellow on blue, with the sparks and tongues of red and orange, provide an abstract pattern which I hope will unite and contrast happily with the design of Mr Pace's geometrical tracery'
